Areas of Expertise

If you’d like to invite me to speak at your event / podcast / or webinar, here are the topics that I’ve spoken about before:

  • Fan-driven marketing and creating superfans (especially for B2B)

  • Organic growth through relationship-building and customer-centric initiatives

  • High quality content and improving marketing outcomes through emotional resonance

  • Tying your marketing to business objectives and strategy vs. tactics

  • Audience research and frameworks (rants and raves, so what?, they say / I say)

  • Future of the internet, decentralization, and fragmentation of online spaces.

Past Speaking Engagements

In-Person Events

  • B2B Sales and Marketing Exchange (video) – I spoke about why B2B brands should invest into creating and developing relationships with superfans, and shared my own love story as a superfan of SparkToro.

  • SaaS Open (video) – I gave a keynote speech at the marketing stage in NYC, titled: “I’m a fangirl for your SaaS business, here's why you need me to survive an economic downturn”.

Podcasts

  • Content Folks (audio) – I joined Fio to talk about my studio Ghibli merch, the book I published when I was 11, and my spin on our family recipe for borscht.

  • The Long Game (audio) – I appeared on Omniscient Digital’s podcast to talk with Alex Birkett about the future of the internet, content distribution strategies, my time as the president of my college’s Astronomy Club, and how being Ukrainian affects my approach to entrepreneurship.

  • Fresh Fusion (audio) – I spoke with Jared White, a fellow Mastodon user, on how we got into decentralized social media, what we think about the deaths of Twitter and Reddit, and where we see the internet heading next.

  • Slice & Dice (video) – I chatted with Brett McGrath from The Juice about some of the most popular marketing content on their platform from March 2023, including some fun jokes about marketing templates, blueberries, and physical funnels.

  • Modern Day Marketer (audio) – I joined Brett McGrath from The Juice to talk about my views on content and what makes a piece of content “high quality”. He graciously allowed me to rant about a lot of my pet peeves.

Webinars

  • Content Distribution Live (video) – I teamed up with my friend Derek Flint from Ten Speed for this webinar hosted by Brett McGrath from The Juice, where we spoke about earning content distribution by building relationships.

  • Growclass (video) – I gave a webinar presentation for the community at Growclass about my favorite question "so what?” and how it can help you figure out who do you want to engage with the pieces you're creating, and why they should care.

  • Breaking B2B (LinkedIn live recording) – I joined Jason Bradwell, Jeffrey Mack, and Kevin Barr on a LinkedIn Live panel to discuss the impact of generative AI on marketing work. I was mostly the skeptical voice on the panel, although the other speakers made some great points on practical applications of these tools.

  • Developer Marketing Alliance (DMA) (slides) – I presented at DMA’s Developer Marketing Drop-In series about writing content for technical audiences when you don’t know any code. Unfortunately, the recording file isn’t available but the link will take you to a copy of my slides.
